The North Carolina Psychological Association is a professional organization designed to serve the interests of psychologists in North Carolina. NCPA advocates for psychology as a science, a profession, and a means of promoting human welfare. It provides an organized voice for psychologists and promotes high standards for the profession. The interests of independent professional practice psychologists are aided by the NCPA Division of Independent Professional Practice. NCPA is the North Carolina affiliate of the American Psychological Association. NCPA members work in a variety of settings such as hospitals, community mental health, private practice, colleges and universities, public schools, corrections, and research facilities. NCPA's work is carried out through its Board of Directors, which consists of NCPA's NCPA officers and chairs of the organization's committees:
Also serving on the NCPA Board of Directors are five regional representatives elected by the membership, as well as the North Carolina Representative to the APA Council of Representatives, the President of the Division of Independent Professional Practice and the President of the North Carolina Psychological Foundation. See the Annual Activities Report 2008. This outlines NCPA's activities and achievements during the most recent complete year. Become part of the solution - join NCPA today.
